Froslass 36/198 · Chilling Reign

Froslass is Pokédex #478, generation 4 (Sinnoh). Froslass is a Stage 1 Water Pokémon with 90 HP. The card says it evolves from Snorunt. In this catalog that name is Snorunt (#361).

Froslass sits at 36/198 in Chilling Reign, position 36 of 233. Before it is 35 Snorunt, and after it is 37 Spheal. The set belongs to the Sword & Shield series. It was released on 18 June 2021. The printed size is 198. This checklist is longer, at 233 cards. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

Frost Over is listed as Ability. When you play this Pokémon from your hand to evolve 1 of your Pokémon during your turn, you may attach a Water Energy card from your discard pile to 1 of your Pokémon. The attack Crystal Breath lists 90 damage. The cost is Water, Colorless. During your next turn, this Pokémon can't attack. Weakness is Metal ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "It spits out cold air of nearly −60 degrees Fahrenheit to freeze its quarry. It brings frozen prey back to its lair and neatly lines them up." The regulation mark is E.

Froslass (#478) has 16 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 12 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2008 to 2026. The earliest other card is Froslass 3/146 in Legends Awakened (2008). Both list 90 HP. Both list the rarity Rare Holo. Kagemaru Himeno illustrated that card, and Souichirou Gunjima illustrated this one. 8 other cards of Froslass list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Souichirou Gunjima. I count 86 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Chilling Reign set binder is where a full Chilling Reign set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Froslass can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). I still need this card.
