Galarian Moltres SWSH125/307 · SWSH Black Star Promos

Moltres is Pokédex #146, generation 1 (Kanto). Galarian Moltres is a Basic Darkness Pokémon with 120 HP.

Galarian Moltres sits at SWSH125/307 in SWSH Black Star Promos, position 125 of 304. Before it is SWSH124 Galarian Zapdos, and after it is SWSH126 Galarian Slowpoke. The set belongs to the Sword & Shield series. It was released on 15 November 2019. The printed size is 307. This checklist is longer, at 304 cards. The listed rarity is Promo.

Malevolent Charge is listed as Ability. When you play this Pokémon from your hand onto your Bench during your turn, you may attach up to 2 Darkness Energy cards from your hand to this Pokémon. The attack Fiery Wrath lists 20+ damage. The cost is Darkness, Darkness, Colorless. This attack does 50 more damage for each Prize card your opponent has taken. Weakness is Grass ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "The sinister aura that blazes like molten fire around this Pokémon is what inspired the name Moltres." The regulation mark is E.

Moltres (#146) has 43 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 29 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Moltres 21/53 in Wizards Black Star Promos (1999). That card is named Moltres, while this one is Galarian Moltres. That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 120 HP. Both list the rarity Promo. Toshinao Aoki illustrated that card, and KEIICHIRO ITO illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 1, and here it is 2. 27 other cards of Moltres list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads KEIICHIRO ITO. I count 50 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

SWSH Black Star Promos set binder is where a full SWSH Black Star Promos set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Moltres can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Legendary birds and Galarian forms. I still need this card.
