Espeon SWSH174/307 · SWSH Black Star Promos

Espeon is Pokédex #196, generation 2 (Johto). Espeon is a Stage 1 Psychic Pokémon with 110 HP. The card says it evolves from Eevee. In this catalog that name is Eevee (#133).

Espeon sits at SWSH174/307 in SWSH Black Star Promos, position 174 of 304. Before it is SWSH173 Blitzle, and after it is SWSH175 Eevee. The set belongs to the Sword & Shield series. It was released on 15 November 2019. The printed size is 307. This checklist is longer, at 304 cards. The listed rarity is Promo.

The attack Psy Bolt lists 20 damage. The cost is Psychic. Flip a coin. If heads, your opponent's Active Pokémon is now Paralyzed. Psychic is another attack lists 10+ damage. The cost is Psychic, Colorless. This attack does 40 more damage for each Energy attached to your opponent's Active Pokémon. Weakness is Darkness ×2. Resistance is Fighting -30. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "It unleashes psychic power from the orb on its forehead. When its power is exhausted, the orb grows dull and dark." The regulation mark is E.

Espeon (#196) has 39 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 26 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2001 to 2026. The earliest other card is Espeon 1/75 in Neo Discovery (2001). That card lists 80 HP, and this one lists 110 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Promo. Atsuko Nishida illustrated that card, and Tika Matsuno illustrated this one. 35 other cards of Espeon list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Tika Matsuno. I count 48 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

SWSH Black Star Promos set binder is where a full SWSH Black Star Promos set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Espeon can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Eevee and the Eeveelutions. I still need this card.
