Wyrdeer SWSH206/307 · SWSH Black Star Promos

Wyrdeer is Pokédex #899, generation 8 (Galar). Wyrdeer is a Stage 1 Psychic Pokémon with 140 HP. The card says it evolves from Stantler. In this catalog that name is Stantler (#234).

Wyrdeer sits at SWSH206/307 in SWSH Black Star Promos, position 206 of 304. Before it is SWSH205 Hisuian Basculegion, and after it is SWSH207 Hisuian Samurott. The set belongs to the Sword & Shield series. It was released on 15 November 2019. The printed size is 307. This checklist is longer, at 304 cards. The listed rarity is Promo.

Hurried Gait is listed as Ability. Once during your turn, you may draw a card. The attack Extrasensory lists 40+ damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless. If you have the same number of cards in your hand as your opponent, this attack does 80 more damage. Weakness is Darkness ×2. Resistance is Fighting -30. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "The black orbs shine with an uncanny light when the Pokémon is erecting invisible barriers. The fur shed from its beard retains heat well and is a highly useful material for winter clothing." The regulation mark is F.

Wyrdeer (#899) has 4 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 2 sets. The other dated printings are from 2022. The earliest other card is Wyrdeer 69/189 in Astral Radiance (2022). Both list 140 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Promo. Mizue illustrated that card, and Eri Yamaki illustrated this one. 2 other cards of Wyrdeer list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Eri Yamaki. I count 39 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

SWSH Black Star Promos set binder is where a full SWSH Black Star Promos set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Wyrdeer can fill a slot in Generation 8 binder (Galar). Themed lists that include this exact card are Holiday: Delibird and festive friends. I still need this card.
