Dragonite V SWSH235/307 · SWSH Black Star Promos

Dragonite is Pokédex #149, generation 1 (Kanto). Dragonite V is a Basic V Dragon Pokémon with 230 HP.

Dragonite V sits at SWSH235/307 in SWSH Black Star Promos, position 235 of 304. Before it is SWSH234 Pikachu, and after it is SWSH236 Dragonite VSTAR. The set belongs to the Sword & Shield series. It was released on 15 November 2019. The printed size is 307. This checklist is longer, at 304 cards. The listed rarity is Promo.

The attack Hyper Beam lists 60 damage. The cost is Water, Lightning. Discard an Energy from your opponent's Active Pokémon. Buster Tail is another attack lists 160 damage. The cost is Water, Lightning, Colorless. Retreat cost is 2. The card text says: V rule: When your Pokémon V is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards. The regulation mark is F.

Dragonite (#149) has 48 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 30 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Dragonite 5/53 in Wizards Black Star Promos (1999). That card is named Dragonite, while this one is Dragonite V. That card lists 90 HP, and this one lists 230 HP. Both list the rarity Promo. Toshinao Aoki illustrated that card, and kawayoo illustrated this one. 43 other cards of Dragonite list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads kawayoo. I count 209 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

SWSH Black Star Promos set binder is where a full SWSH Black Star Promos set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Dragonite can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Dratini, Dragonair, and Dragonite. I still need this card.
