Charizard VSTAR SWSH262/307 · SWSH Black Star Promos

Charizard VSTAR, SWSH Black Star Promos #SWSH262

Charizard is Pokédex #006, generation 1 (Kanto). Charizard VSTAR is a VSTAR Fire Pokémon with 280 HP. The card says it evolves from Charizard V. In this catalog that name is Charizard (#006).

Charizard VSTAR sits at SWSH262/307 in SWSH Black Star Promos, position 262 of 304. Before it is SWSH261 Charizard VMAX, and after it is SWSH263 Zeraora V. The set belongs to the Sword & Shield series. It was released on 15 November 2019. The printed size is 307. This checklist is longer, at 304 cards. The listed rarity is Promo.

The attack Explosive Fire lists 130+ damage. The cost is Fire, Fire, Colorless. If this Pokémon has any damage counters on it, this attack does 100 more damage. Star Blaze is another attack lists 320 damage. The cost is Fire, Fire, Fire, Colorless. Discard 2 Energy from this Pokémon. (You can't use more than 1 VSTAR Power in a game.) Weakness is Water ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The card text says: VSTAR rule: When your Pokémon VSTAR is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards. The regulation mark is F.

Charizard (#006) has 106 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 51 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Charizard 4/102 in Base (1999). That card is named Charizard, while this one is Charizard VSTAR. That card lists 120 HP, and this one lists 280 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Promo. Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated that card, and KIYOTAKA OSHIYAMA illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 3, and here it is 2. 103 other cards of Charizard list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads KIYOTAKA OSHIYAMA. I count 31 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

SWSH Black Star Promos set binder is where a full SWSH Black Star Promos set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Charizard can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). Themed lists that include this exact card are All Charizard cards. I still need this card.
