Manaphy SWSH275/307 · SWSH Black Star Promos

Manaphy is Pokédex #490, generation 4 (Sinnoh). Manaphy is a Basic Water Pokémon with 70 HP.

Manaphy sits at SWSH275/307 in SWSH Black Star Promos, position 275 of 304. Before it is SWSH274 Cranidos, and after it is SWSH276 Togetic. The set belongs to the Sword & Shield series. It was released on 15 November 2019. The printed size is 307. This checklist is longer, at 304 cards. The listed rarity is Promo.

The attack Pulling Currents lists no damage number. The cost is Water. Your opponent reveals their hand. Put up to 2 Basic Pokémon you find there onto your opponent's Bench. Aqua Bullet is another attack lists 40 damage. The cost is Water, Colorless. This attack also does 20 damage to 1 of your opponent's Benched Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Weakness is Lightning ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "It starts life with a wondrous power that permits it to bond with any kind of Pokémon." The regulation mark is F.

Manaphy (#490) has 16 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 14 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2007 to 2023. The earliest other card is Manaphy 9/130 in Diamond & Pearl (2007). Both list 70 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Promo. Nakaoka illustrated that card, and NC Empire illustrated this one. 4 other cards of Manaphy list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads NC Empire. I count 35 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

SWSH Black Star Promos set binder is where a full SWSH Black Star Promos set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Manaphy can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). Themed lists that include this exact card are Mythical Pokémon, from Sword & Shield on. I still need this card.
