Pikachu VMAX SWSH286/307 · SWSH Black Star Promos

Pikachu is Pokédex #025, generation 1 (Kanto). Pikachu VMAX is a VMAX Lightning Pokémon with 310 HP. The card says it evolves from Pikachu V. In this catalog that name is Pikachu (#025).

Pikachu VMAX sits at SWSH286/307 in SWSH Black Star Promos, position 286 of 304. Before it is SWSH285 Pikachu V, and after it is SWSH287 Morpeko V-UNION. The set belongs to the Sword & Shield series. It was released on 15 November 2019. The printed size is 307. This checklist is longer, at 304 cards. The listed rarity is Promo.

The attack Tail Charge lists 30 damage. The cost is Lightning. Attach up to 3 Lightning Energy cards from your discard pile to 1 of your Pokémon. G-Max Thunder is another attack lists 250 damage. The cost is Lightning, Lightning, Lightning, Colorless. Weakness is Fighting ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The card text says: VMAX rule: When your Pokémon VMAX is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 3 Prize cards. The regulation mark is F.

Pikachu (#025) has 212 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 90 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Pikachu 58/102 in Base (1999). That card is named Pikachu, while this one is Pikachu VMAX. That card lists 40 HP, and this one lists 310 HP. The rarity there is Common, and here it is Promo. Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated that card, and AKIRA EGAWA illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 1, and here it is 2. 205 other cards of Pikachu list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads AKIRA EGAWA. I count 83 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

SWSH Black Star Promos set binder is where a full SWSH Black Star Promos set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Pikachu can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). Themed lists that include this exact card are All Pikachu cards and VMAX cards. I still need this card.
