Dewgong 16/124 · Fates Collide

Fates Collide is a set in the XY series. It was released on 2 May 2016. The printed size is 124. This checklist is longer, at 129 cards. Dewgong is 16/124, in position 16 of 129 on this checklist. Before it is 15 Seel, and after it is 17 Omanyte. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

Dewgong is a Stage 1 Water Pokémon with 120 HP. In the Pokédex this is Dewgong (#087), generation 1 (Kanto). The card says it evolves from Seel. In this catalog that name is Seel (#086).

Naoyo Kimura illustrated this card. The same name is on 256 other cards in the catalog.

Dewgong (#087) has 18 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 16 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Dewgong 25/102 in Base (1999). That card lists 80 HP, and this one lists 120 HP. Both list the rarity Uncommon. Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated that card, and Naoyo Kimura illustrated this one. 15 other cards of Dewgong list a different HP.

The attack Freezing Breath lists 20 damage. The cost is Water. Flip a coin. If heads, your opponent's Active Pokémon is now Paralyzed. If tails, your opponent's Active Pokémon is now Asleep. Aurora Beam is another attack lists 100 damage. The cost is Water, Colorless, Colorless, Colorless. Weakness is Metal ×2. Retreat cost is 3. The flavor text reads "Its streamlined body has little drag in water. The colder the temperature, the friskier it gets."

I keep a set binder for Fates Collide, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Fates Collide set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Dewgong can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). I still need this card.
