Dewgong 29/108 · Evolutions

Evolutions is a set in the XY series. It was released on 2 November 2016. The printed size is 108. This checklist is longer, at 113 cards. Dewgong is 29/108, in position 29 of 113 on this checklist. Before it is 28 Seel, and after it is 30 Staryu. The listed rarity is Rare.

Dewgong is a Stage 1 Water Pokémon with 120 HP. The card lists level 42. In the Pokédex this is Dewgong (#087), generation 1 (Kanto). The card says it evolves from Seel. In this catalog that name is Seel (#086).

Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated this card. The same name is on 721 other cards in the catalog.

Dewgong (#087) has 18 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 16 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Dewgong 25/102 in Base (1999). That card lists 80 HP, and this one lists 120 HP. The rarity there is Uncommon, and here it is Rare. 15 other cards of Dewgong list a different HP.

The attack Super Deep Dive lists no damage number. The cost is Water. Heal 40 damage from this Pokémon. Switch this Pokémon with 1 of your Benched Pokémon. Take Down is another attack lists 90 damage. The cost is Water, Colorless, Colorless. This Pokémon does 20 damage to itself. Weakness is Grass ×2. Retreat cost is 3. The flavor text reads "Its body is covered with a pure white fur. The colder the weather, the more active it becomes."

I keep a set binder for Evolutions, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Evolutions set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Dewgong can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Mitsuhiro Arita cards. I still need this card.
