Primal Kyogre-EX 149/160 · Primal Clash

Kyogre is Pokédex #382, generation 3 (Hoenn). Primal Kyogre-EX is a MEGA EX Water Pokémon with 240 HP. The card says it evolves from Kyogre-EX. In this catalog that name is Kyogre (#382).

Primal Kyogre-EX sits at 149/160 in Primal Clash, position 149 of 164. Before it is 148 Kyogre-EX, and after it is 150 Groudon-EX. The set belongs to the XY series. It was released on 4 February 2015. The printed size is 160. This checklist is longer, at 164 cards. The listed rarity is Rare Ultra.

The attack Tidal Storm lists 150 damage. The cost is Water, Water, Water, Colorless. Move 2 Energy from this Pokémon to 1 of your Benched Pokémon. This attack does 30 damage to each of your opponent's Benched Pokémon-EX. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Weakness is Grass ×2. Retreat cost is 4. The card text says: Primal Reversion rule: When 1 of your Pokémon becomes Primal Kyogre-EX, your turn ends. The card text says: Pokémon-EX rule: When a Pokémon-EX has been Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards. α Growth is the ancient trait on this card. When you attach an Energy card from your hand to this Pokémon (except with an attack, Ability, or Trainer card), you may attach 2 Energy cards.

Kyogre (#382) has 32 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 22 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2026. The earliest other card is Kyogre ex 1/40 in Nintendo Black Star Promos (2003). That card is named Kyogre ex, while this one is Primal Kyogre-EX. That card lists 120 HP, and this one lists 240 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare Ultra. Hiromichi Sugiyama illustrated that card, and 5ban Graphics illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 3, and here it is 4. 30 other cards of Kyogre list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads 5ban Graphics. I count 1,629 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Primal Clash set binder is where a full Primal Clash set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Kyogre can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). Themed lists that include this exact card are Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza. I still need this card.
