Shaymin-EX 106/108 · Roaring Skies

Shaymin is Pokédex #492, generation 4 (Sinnoh). Shaymin-EX is a Basic EX Colorless Pokémon with 110 HP.

Shaymin-EX sits at 106/108 in Roaring Skies, position 108 of 112. Before it is 105 M Rayquaza-EX, and after it is 107 Wally. The set belongs to the XY series. It was released on 6 May 2015. The printed size is 108. This checklist is longer, at 112 cards. The listed rarity is Rare Ultra.

Set Up is listed as Ability. When you play this Pokémon from your hand onto your Bench, you may draw cards until you have 6 cards in your hand. The attack Sky Return lists 30 damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless. Return this Pokémon and all cards attached to it to your hand. Weakness is Lightning ×2. Resistance is Fighting -20. Retreat cost is 1. The card text says: Pokémon-EX rule: When a Pokémon-EX has been Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

Shaymin (#492) has 34 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 21 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2007 to 2026. The earliest other card is Shaymin LV.X DP39/56 in DP Black Star Promos (2007). That card is named Shaymin LV.X, while this one is Shaymin-EX. Both list 110 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare Ultra. Shizurow illustrated that card, and Ryo Ueda illustrated this one. 26 other cards of Shaymin list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Ryo Ueda. I count 462 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Roaring Skies set binder is where a full Roaring Skies set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Shaymin can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). I still need this card.
