Kyurem-EX 25/98 · Ancient Origins

Ancient Origins is a set in the XY series. It was released on 12 August 2015. The printed size is 98. This checklist is longer, at 101 cards. Kyurem-EX is 25/98, in position 25 of 101 on this checklist. Before it is 24 Regice, and after it is 26 Jolteon. The listed rarity is Rare Holo EX.

Kyurem-EX is a Basic EX Water Pokémon with 180 HP. In the Pokédex this is Kyurem (#646), generation 5 (Unova).

PLANETA illustrated this card. The same name is on 47 other cards in the catalog.

Kyurem (#646) has 49 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 22 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2011 to 2025. The earliest other card is Kyurem-EX BW37/101 in BW Black Star Promos (2011). Both list 180 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare Holo EX. Shizurow illustrated that card, and PLANETA illustrated this one. 33 other cards of Kyurem list a different HP.

The attack Glaciate lists no damage number. The cost is Water, Water, Colorless. This attack does 30 damage to each of your opponent's Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Icecalibur is another attack lists 130 damage. The cost is Water, Water, Water, Colorless. Discard an Energy attached to this Pokémon. The Defending Pokémon can't attack during your opponent's next turn. Weakness is Metal ×2. Retreat cost is 3. The card text says: Pokémon-EX rule: When a Pokémon-EX has been Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

I keep a set binder for Ancient Origins, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Ancient Origins set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Kyurem can fill a slot in Generation 5 binder (Unova). I still need this card.
