Aurorus-EX XY102/211 · XY Black Star Promos

XY Black Star Promos is a set in the XY series. It was released on 12 October 2013. The printed size is 211. This checklist is longer, at 216 cards. Aurorus-EX is XY102/211, in position 103 of 216 on this checklist. Before it is XY101 Mewtwo, and after it is XY103 Mawile-EX. The listed rarity is Promo.

Aurorus-EX is a Basic EX Water Pokémon with 180 HP. In the Pokédex this is Aurorus (#699), generation 6 (Kalos).

Toyste Beach illustrated this card. The same name is on 284 other cards in the catalog.

Aurorus (#699) has 4 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 3 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2014 to 2026. The earliest other card is Aurorus 26/111 in Furious Fists (2014). That card is named Aurorus, while this one is Aurorus-EX. That card lists 130 HP, and this one lists 180 HP. The rarity there is Rare, and here it is Promo. 5ban Graphics illustrated that card, and Toyste Beach illustrated this one. 4 other cards of Aurorus list a different HP.

Frozen Charm is listed as Ability. Each of your Pokémon that has any Water Energy attached to it can't be Paralyzed. (If any of those Pokémon are Paralyzed, remove that Special Condition.) The attack Crystal Breath lists 160 damage. The cost is Water, Water, Water, Colorless. This Pokémon can't attack during your next turn. Weakness is Metal ×2. Retreat cost is 3. The card text says: Pokémon-EX rule: When a Pokémon-EX has been Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

I keep a set binder for XY Black Star Promos, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the XY Black Star Promos set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Aurorus can fill a slot in Generation 6 binder (Kalos). Themed lists that include this exact card are Fossil Pokémon. I still need this card.
