M Beedrill-EX XY158/211 · XY Black Star Promos

Beedrill is Pokédex #015, generation 1 (Kanto). M Beedrill-EX is a MEGA EX Grass Pokémon with 200 HP. The card says it evolves from Beedrill-EX. In this catalog that name is Beedrill (#015).

M Beedrill-EX sits at XY158/211 in XY Black Star Promos, position 160 of 216. Before it is XY157 Beedrill-EX, and after it is XY159 Beedrill Spirit Link. The set belongs to the XY series. It was released on 12 October 2013. The printed size is 211. This checklist is longer, at 216 cards. The listed rarity is Promo.

The attack Hazard Stinger lists 40 damage. The cost is Grass, Grass. Discard all Energy attached to this Pokémon. Your opponent's Active Pokémon is now Paralyzed and Poisoned. Put 4 damage counters instead of 1 on that Pokémon between turns. Weakness is Fire ×2. The card text says: Mega Evolution rule: When 1 of your Pokémon becomes a Mega Evolution Pokémon, your turn ends. The card text says: Pokémon-EX rule: When a Pokémon-EX has been Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

Beedrill (#015) has 29 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 25 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Beedrill 17/102 in Base (1999). That card is named Beedrill, while this one is M Beedrill-EX. That card lists 80 HP, and this one lists 200 HP. The rarity there is Rare, and here it is Promo. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and 5ban Graphics illustrated this one. 29 other cards of Beedrill list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads 5ban Graphics. I count 1,629 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

XY Black Star Promos set binder is where a full XY Black Star Promos set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Beedrill can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). I still need this card.
