Darkrai XY194/211 · XY Black Star Promos

Darkrai is Pokédex #491, generation 4 (Sinnoh). Darkrai is a Basic Darkness Pokémon with 110 HP.

Darkrai sits at XY194/211 in XY Black Star Promos, position 197 of 216. Before it is XY193 Meloetta, and after it is XY195 Jirachi. The set belongs to the XY series. It was released on 12 October 2013. The printed size is 211. This checklist is longer, at 216 cards. The listed rarity is Promo.

The attack Dark Cutter lists 30 damage. The cost is Darkness, Colorless. Abyssal Sleep is another attack lists 80 damage. The cost is Darkness, Darkness, Colorless. Your opponent's Active Pokémon is now Asleep. Your opponent flips 2 coins instead of 1 between turns. If either of them is tails, the Pokémon is still Asleep. Weakness is Fighting ×2. Resistance is Psychic -20. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "It can lull people to sleep and make them dream. It is active during the nights of the new moon."

Darkrai (#491) has 40 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 23 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2007 to 2026. The earliest other card is Darkrai LV.X DP19/56 in DP Black Star Promos (2007). That card is named Darkrai LV.X, while this one is Darkrai. That card lists 100 HP, and this one lists 110 HP. Both list the rarity Promo. Shizurow illustrated that card, and Ken Sugimori illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 1, and here it is 2. 37 other cards of Darkrai list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Ken Sugimori. I count 1,112 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

XY Black Star Promos set binder is where a full XY Black Star Promos set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Darkrai can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). Themed lists that include this exact card are Nap time. I still need this card.
