Vaporeon 28/64 · Jungle

Jungle is a set in the Base series. It was released on June 16, 1999. The printed size is 64, and the checklist is the same length. Vaporeon is 28/64, in position 28 of 64 on this checklist. Before it is 27 Snorlax, and after it is 29 Venomoth. The listed rarity is Rare.

Vaporeon is a Stage 1 Water Pokémon with 80 HP. The card lists level 42. In the Pokédex this is Vaporeon (#134), generation 1 (Kanto). The card says it evolves from Eevee. In this catalog that name is Eevee (#133).

Kagemaru Himeno illustrated this card. The same name is on 656 other cards in the catalog.

Vaporeon (#134) has 36 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 28 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2025. The earliest other card is Vaporeon 12/64 in Jungle (1999). Both list 80 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare. 34 other cards of Vaporeon list a different HP.

The attack Quick Attack lists 10+ damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless. Flip a coin. If heads, this attack does 10 damage plus 20 more damage; if tails, this attack does 10 damage. Water Gun is another attack lists 30+ damage. The cost is Water, Water, Colorless. Does 30 damage plus 10 more damage for each Water Energy attached to Vaporeon but not used to pay for this attack's Energy cost. Extra Water Energy after the 2nd doesn't count. Weakness is Lightning ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "Lives close to water. Its long tail is ridged with a fin that is often mistaken for a mermaid's."

I keep a set binder for Jungle, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Jungle set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Vaporeon can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Eevee and the Eeveelutions. I still need this card.
