Genesect 10/101 · Plasma Blast

Plasma Blast is a set in the Black & White series. It was released on August 14, 2013. The printed size is 101. This checklist is longer, at 105 cards. Genesect is 10/101, in position 10 of 105 on this checklist. Before it is 9 Virizion-EX, and after it is 11 Genesect-EX. The listed rarity is Rare.

Genesect is a Basic Grass Pokémon with 100 HP. In the Pokédex this is Genesect (#649), generation 5 (Unova).

Masakazu Fukuda illustrated this card. The same name is on 471 other cards in the catalog.

Genesect (#649) has 25 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 14 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2011 to 2026. The earliest other card is Genesect BW86/101 in BW Black Star Promos (2011). Both list 100 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare. 5ban Graphics illustrated that card, and Masakazu Fukuda illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 2, and here it is 1. 24 other cards of Genesect list a different HP.

The attack Call for Family lists no damage number. The cost is Colorless. Search your deck for 2 Grass Basic Pokémon and put them onto your Bench. Shuffle your deck afterward. Jet Impact is another attack lists 80+ damage. The cost is Grass, Grass, Colorless. Flip a coin. If heads, this attack does 20 more damage. Weakness is Fire ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "This Pokémon existed 300 million years ago. Team Plasma altered it and attached a cannon to its back."

I keep a set binder for Plasma Blast, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Plasma Blast set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Genesect can fill a slot in Generation 5 binder (Unova). I still need this card.
