Genesect BW86/101 · BW Black Star Promos

Genesect is Pokédex #649, generation 5 (Unova). Genesect is a Basic Team Plasma Grass Pokémon with 100 HP.

Genesect sits at BW86/101 in BW Black Star Promos, position 86 of 101. Before it is BW85 Lucario, and after it is BW87 Leafeon. The set belongs to the Black & White series. It was released on March 1, 2011. The printed size is 101, and the checklist is the same length. The listed rarity is Promo.

The attack Signal Beam lists 30 damage. The cost is Grass, Colorless. Flip a coin. If heads, the Defending Pokémon is now Confused. Overdrive Smash is another attack lists 60 damage. The cost is Grass, Grass, Colorless, Colorless. During your next turn, this Pokémon's Overdrive Smash attack does 60 more damage (before applying Weakness and Resistance). Weakness is Fire ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "This Pokémon existed 300 million years ago. Team Plasma altered it and attached a cannon to its back."

Genesect (#649) has 25 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 14 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2011 to 2026. The earliest other card is Genesect BW99/101 in BW Black Star Promos (2011). That card lists 110 HP, and this one lists 100 HP. Both list the rarity Promo. 24 other cards of Genesect list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads 5ban Graphics. I count 1,629 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

BW Black Star Promos set binder is where a full BW Black Star Promos set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Genesect can fill a slot in Generation 5 binder (Unova). I still need this card.
