Leafeon BW87/101 · BW Black Star Promos

BW Black Star Promos is a set in the Black & White series. It was released on March 1, 2011. The printed size is 101, and the checklist is the same length. Leafeon is BW87/101, in position 87 of 101 on this checklist. Before it is BW86 Genesect, and after it is BW88 Flareon. The listed rarity is Promo.

Leafeon is a Stage 1 Grass Pokémon with 90 HP. In the Pokédex this is Leafeon (#470), generation 4 (Sinnoh). The card says it evolves from Eevee. In this catalog that name is Eevee (#133).

The Pokémon Company Art Team illustrated this card. The same name is on 15 other cards in the catalog.

Leafeon (#470) has 33 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 18 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2008 to 2025. The earliest other card is Leafeon 7/100 in Majestic Dawn (2008). Both list 90 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Promo. Kouki Saitou illustrated that card, and The Pokémon Company Art Team illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 2, and here it is 1. 26 other cards of Leafeon list a different HP.

The attack Quick Attack lists 10+ damage. The cost is Colorless. Flip a coin. If heads, this attack does 30 more damage. Energy Assist is another attack lists 40 damage. The cost is Grass, Colorless. Attach a basic Energy card from your discard pile to 1 of your Benched Pokémon. Weakness is Fire ×2. Resistance is Water -20. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "It basically does not fight. With cells similar to those of plants, it can perform photosynthesis."

I keep a set binder for BW Black Star Promos, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the BW Black Star Promos set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Leafeon can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). Themed lists that include this exact card are Eevee and the Eeveelutions. I still need this card.
