Starmie 24/99 · Next Destinies

Next Destinies is a set in the Black & White series. It was released on February 8, 2012. The printed size is 99. This checklist is longer, at 103 cards. Starmie is 24/99, in position 24 of 103 on this checklist. Before it is 23 Staryu, and after it is 25 Lapras. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

Starmie is a Stage 1 Water Pokémon with 90 HP. In the Pokédex this is Starmie (#121), generation 1 (Kanto). The card says it evolves from Staryu. In this catalog that name is Staryu (#120).

Shin Nagasawa illustrated this card. The same name is on 303 other cards in the catalog.

Starmie (#121) has 34 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 27 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Starmie 64/102 in Base (1999). That card lists 60 HP, and this one lists 90 HP. The rarity there is Common, and here it is Uncommon. Keiji Kinebuchi illustrated that card, and Shin Nagasawa illustrated this one. 24 other cards of Starmie list a different HP.

The attack Confuse Ray lists no damage number. The cost is Colorless. The Defending Pokémon is now Confused. Swift is another attack lists 50 damage. The cost is Water. This attack's damage isn't affected by Weakness, Resistance, or any other effects on the Defending Pokémon. Weakness is Lightning ×2. The flavor text reads "At the center of its body is a red core, which sends mysterious radio signals into the night sky."

I keep a set binder for Next Destinies, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Next Destinies set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Starmie can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). I still need this card.
