Starmie 49/101 · Hidden Legends

Hidden Legends is a set in the EX series. It was released on June 1, 2004. The printed size is 101. This checklist is longer, at 102 cards. Starmie is 49/101, in position 49 of 102 on this checklist. Before it is 48 Spinda, and after it is 50 Swalot. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

Starmie is a Stage 1 Psychic Pokémon with 80 HP. In the Pokédex this is Starmie (#121), generation 1 (Kanto). The card says it evolves from Staryu. In this catalog that name is Staryu (#120).

Aya Kusube illustrated this card. The same name is on 127 other cards in the catalog.

Starmie (#121) has 34 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 27 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Starmie 64/102 in Base (1999). That card lists 60 HP, and this one lists 80 HP. The rarity there is Common, and here it is Uncommon. Keiji Kinebuchi illustrated that card, and Aya Kusube illustrated this one. 27 other cards of Starmie list a different HP.

The attack Water Arrow lists no damage number. The cost is Water. Choose 1 of your opponent's Pokémon. This attack does 20 damage to that Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Rainbow Star is another attack lists 50+ damage. The cost is Psychic, Colorless, Colorless. Does 50 damage plus 10 more damage for each type of basic Energy attached to the Defending Pokémon. Weakness is Psychic ×2. Retreat cost is 1.

I keep a set binder for Hidden Legends, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Hidden Legends set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Starmie can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). I still need this card.
