Swalot 50/101 · Hidden Legends

Hidden Legends is a set in the EX series. It was released on June 1, 2004. The printed size is 101. This checklist is longer, at 102 cards. Swalot is 50/101, in position 50 of 102 on this checklist. Before it is 49 Starmie, and after it is 51 Tentacruel. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

Swalot is a Stage 1 Grass Pokémon with 80 HP. In the Pokédex this is Swalot (#317), generation 3 (Hoenn). The card says it evolves from Gulpin. In this catalog that name is Gulpin (#316).

Yuka Morii illustrated this card. The same name is on 204 other cards in the catalog.

Swalot (#317) has 7 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 7 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2005 to 2024. The earliest other card is Swalot 40/106 in Emerald (2005). Both list 80 HP. Both list the rarity Uncommon. Atsuko Nishida illustrated that card, and Yuka Morii illustrated this one. 5 other cards of Swalot list a different HP.

The attack Amnesia lists 10 damage. The cost is Colorless. Choose 1 of the Defending Pokémon's attacks. That Pokémon can't use that attack during your opponent's next turn. Swallow Up is another attack lists 50+ damage. The cost is Grass, Colorless, Colorless. Before doing damage, count the remaining HP of the Defending Pokémon and Swalot. If the Defending Pokémon has fewer remaining HP than Swalot's, this attack does 50 damage plus 30 more damage. Weakness is Psychic ×2. Retreat cost is 2.

I keep a set binder for Hidden Legends, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Hidden Legends set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Swalot can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). Themed lists that include this exact card are Yuka Morii clay cards. I still need this card.
