Swalot 72/146 · Legends Awakened

Legends Awakened is a set in the Diamond & Pearl series. It was released on August 1, 2008. The printed size is 146, and the checklist is the same length. Swalot is 72/146, in position 72 of 146 on this checklist. Before it is 71 Starmie, and after it is 73 Swellow. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

Swalot is a Stage 1 Psychic Pokémon with 90 HP. The card lists level 35. In the Pokédex this is Swalot (#317), generation 3 (Hoenn). The card says it evolves from Gulpin. In this catalog that name is Gulpin (#316).

Midori Harada illustrated this card. The same name is on 352 other cards in the catalog.

Swalot (#317) has 7 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 7 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2004 to 2024. The earliest other card is Swalot 50/101 in Hidden Legends (2004). That card lists 80 HP, and this one lists 90 HP. Both list the rarity Uncommon. Yuka Morii illustrated that card, and Midori Harada illustrated this one. 7 other cards of Swalot list a different HP.

The attack Swallow Up lists 30 damage. The cost is Psychic, Colorless. Before doing damage, count the remaining HP of the Defending Pokémon and Swalot. If the Defending Pokémon has fewer remaining HP than Swalot's, this attack does 80 damage instead. Gunk Shot is another attack lists 60 damage. The cost is Psychic, Psychic, Colorless. The Defending Pokémon is now Poisoned. Weakness is Psychic +20. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "It swallows anything whole. It sweats toxic fluids from its follicles to douse foes."

I keep a set binder for Legends Awakened, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Legends Awakened set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Swalot can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
