Swalot 38/119 · Phantom Forces

Swalot is Pokédex #317, generation 3 (Hoenn). Swalot is a Stage 1 Psychic Pokémon with 110 HP. The card says it evolves from Gulpin. In this catalog that name is Gulpin (#316).

Swalot sits at 38/119 in Phantom Forces, position 39 of 124. Before it is 37 Gulpin, and after it is 39 Munna. The set belongs to the XY series. It was released on November 5, 2014. The printed size is 119. This checklist is longer, at 124 cards. The listed rarity is Rare.

The attack Poison Gas lists 30 damage. The cost is Psychic, Colorless. Your opponent's Active Pokémon is now Poisoned. Swallow Up is another attack lists 50+ damage. The cost is Psychic, Colorless, Colorless. If, before doing damage, your opponent's Active Pokémon has fewer remaining HP than this Pokémon, this attack does 50 more damage. Weakness is Psychic ×2. Retreat cost is 3. The flavor text reads "It swallows anything whole. It sweats toxic fluids from its follicles to douse foes."

Swalot (#317) has 7 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 7 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2004 to 2024. The earliest other card is Swalot 50/101 in Hidden Legends (2004). That card lists 80 HP, and this one lists 110 HP. The rarity there is Uncommon, and here it is Rare. Yuka Morii illustrated that card, and Tomokazu Komiya illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 2, and here it is 3. 7 other cards of Swalot list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Tomokazu Komiya. I count 248 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Phantom Forces set binder is where a full Phantom Forces set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Swalot can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). Themed lists that include this exact card are Tomokazu Komiya cards. I still need this card.
