Luxray 46/99 · Next Destinies

Next Destinies is a set in the Black & White series. It was released on February 8, 2012. The printed size is 99. This checklist is longer, at 103 cards. Luxray is 46/99, in position 46 of 103 on this checklist. Before it is 45 Luxio, and after it is 47 Blitzle. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

Luxray is a Stage 2 Lightning Pokémon with 140 HP. In the Pokédex this is Luxray (#405), generation 4 (Sinnoh). The card says it evolves from Luxio. In this catalog that name is Luxio (#404).

Shin Nagasawa illustrated this card. The same name is on 303 other cards in the catalog.

Luxray (#405) has 26 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 21 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2007 to 2026. The earliest other card is Luxray 7/130 in Diamond & Pearl (2007). That card lists 120 HP, and this one lists 140 HP. Both list the rarity Rare Holo. Mikiko Takeda illustrated that card, and Shin Nagasawa illustrated this one. 24 other cards of Luxray list a different HP.

The attack Flash Impact lists 60 damage. The cost is Lightning. Does 20 damage to 1 of your Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Crunch is another attack lists 80 damage. The cost is Lightning, Lightning, Colorless. Flip a coin. If heads, discard an Energy attached to the Defending Pokémon. Weakness is Fighting ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "It can see clearly through walls to track down its prey and seek its lost young."

I keep a set binder for Next Destinies, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Next Destinies set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Luxray can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). I still need this card.
