Luxray 3/17 · POP Series 8

Luxray is Pokédex #405, generation 4 (Sinnoh). Luxray is a Stage 2 Lightning Pokémon with 120 HP. The card lists level 45. The card says it evolves from Luxio. In this catalog that name is Luxio (#404).

Luxray sits at 3/17 in POP Series 8, position 3 of 17. Before it is 2 Lucario, and after it is 4 Probopass. The set belongs to the POP series. It was released on September 1, 2008. The printed size is 17, and the checklist is the same length. The listed rarity is Rare.

Intimidating Fang is listed as Poké-Body. As long as Luxray is your Active Pokémon, any damage done by an opponent's attack is reduced by 10 (before applying Weakness and Resistance). The attack Thunder lists 120 damage. The cost is Lightning, Lightning, Lightning, Colorless. Flip a coin. If tails, Luxray does 40 damage to itself. Weakness is Fighting +30. Resistance is Metal -20. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "When its eyes gleam gold, it can spot hiding prey–even those taking shelter behind a wall."

Luxray (#405) has 26 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 21 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2007 to 2026. The earliest other card is Luxray 7/130 in Diamond & Pearl (2007). Both list 120 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare. Mikiko Takeda illustrated that card, and Ken Sugimori illustrated this one. 23 other cards of Luxray list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Ken Sugimori. I count 1,112 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

POP Series 8 set binder is where a full POP Series 8 set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Luxray can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). I still need this card.
