Kyogre-EX 104/108 · Dark Explorers

Dark Explorers is a set in the Black & White series. It was released on May 9, 2012. The printed size is 108. This checklist is longer, at 111 cards. Kyogre-EX is 104/108, in position 104 of 111 on this checklist. Before it is 103 Entei-EX, and after it is 105 Raikou-EX. The listed rarity is Rare Ultra.

Kyogre-EX is a Basic EX Water Pokémon with 170 HP. In the Pokédex this is Kyogre (#382), generation 3 (Hoenn).

5ban Graphics illustrated this card. The same name is on 1,629 other cards in the catalog.

Kyogre (#382) has 32 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 22 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2026. The earliest other card is Kyogre ex 1/40 in Nintendo Black Star Promos (2003). That card is named Kyogre ex, while this one is Kyogre-EX. That card lists 120 HP, and this one lists 170 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare Ultra. Hiromichi Sugiyama illustrated that card, and 5ban Graphics illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 3, and here it is 4. 31 other cards of Kyogre list a different HP.

The attack Smash Turn lists 30 damage. The cost is Water, Colorless. You may switch this Pokémon with 1 of your Benched Pokémon. Dual Splash is another attack lists no damage number. The cost is Water, Water, Colorless. This attack does 50 damage to 2 of your opponent's Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Weakness is Lightning ×2. Retreat cost is 4. The card text says: Pokémon-EX rule: When a Pokémon-EX has been Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

I keep a set binder for Dark Explorers, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Dark Explorers set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Kyogre can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
