Entei-EX 103/108 · Dark Explorers

Entei is Pokédex #244, generation 2 (Johto). Entei-EX is a Basic EX Fire Pokémon with 180 HP.

Entei-EX sits at 103/108 in Dark Explorers, position 103 of 111. Before it is 102 Ultra Ball, and after it is 104 Kyogre-EX. The set belongs to the Black & White series. It was released on May 9, 2012. The printed size is 108. This checklist is longer, at 111 cards. The listed rarity is Rare Ultra.

The attack Fire Fang lists 30 damage. The cost is Fire, Colorless. The Defending Pokémon is now Burned. Grand Flame is another attack lists 90 damage. The cost is Fire, Fire, Colorless. Attach a Fire Energy from your discard pile to 1 of your Benched Pokémon. Weakness is Water ×2. Retreat cost is 3. The card text says: Pokémon-EX rule: When a Pokémon-EX has been Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

Entei (#244) has 34 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 25 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Entei 34/53 in Wizards Black Star Promos (1999). That card is named Entei, while this one is Entei-EX. That card lists 80 HP, and this one lists 180 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare Ultra. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and 5ban Graphics illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 1, and here it is 3. 29 other cards of Entei list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads 5ban Graphics. I count 1,629 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Dark Explorers set binder is where a full Dark Explorers set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Entei can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). I still need this card.
