Rocket's Entei ex 97/109 · Team Rocket Returns

Entei is Pokédex #244, generation 2 (Johto). Rocket's Entei ex is a Basic ex Darkness Pokémon with 100 HP.

Rocket's Entei ex sits at 97/109 in Team Rocket Returns, position 97 of 111. Before it is 96 Rocket's Articuno ex, and after it is 98 Rocket's Hitmonchan ex. The set belongs to the EX series. It was released on November 1, 2004. The printed size is 109. This checklist is longer, at 111 cards. The listed rarity is Rare Holo EX.

Dark Condition is listed as Poké-Body. As long as Rocket's Entei ex has any Darkness Energy attached to it, Rocket's Entei ex has no Weakness. The attack Energy Link lists 10 damage. The cost is Colorless. Search your discard pile for an Energy card and attach it to Rocket's Entei ex. Volcanic Ash is another attack lists no damage number. The cost is Fire, Fire, Colorless. Discard 2 Energy attached to Rocket's Entei ex and then choose 1 of your opponent's Pokémon. This attack does 60 damage to that Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Weakness is Water ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The card text says: When Pokémon-ex has been Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

Entei (#244) has 34 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 24 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Entei 34/53 in Wizards Black Star Promos (1999). That card is named Entei, while this one is Rocket's Entei ex. That card lists 80 HP, and this one lists 100 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare Holo EX. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Ryo Ueda illustrated this one. 33 other cards of Entei list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Ryo Ueda. I count 462 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Team Rocket Returns set binder is where a full Team Rocket Returns set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Entei can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Trainer's Pokémon, Team Rocket cards, and Legendary beasts. I still need this card.
