Lugia-EX 134/135 · Plasma Storm

Plasma Storm is a set in the Black & White series. It was released on February 6, 2013. The printed size is 135. This checklist is longer, at 138 cards. Lugia-EX is 134/135, in position 134 of 138 on this checklist. Before it is 133 Cobalion-EX, and after it is 135 Colress. The listed rarity is Rare Ultra.

Lugia-EX is a Basic EX Team Plasma Colorless Pokémon with 180 HP. In the Pokédex this is Lugia (#249), generation 2 (Johto).

Toyste Beach illustrated this card. The same name is on 284 other cards in the catalog.

Lugia (#249) has 38 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 26 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2000 to 2026. The earliest other card is Lugia 9/111 in Neo Genesis (2000). That card is named Lugia, while this one is Lugia-EX. That card lists 90 HP, and this one lists 180 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare Ultra. Hironobu Yoshida illustrated that card, and Toyste Beach illustrated this one. 35 other cards of Lugia list a different HP.

Overflow is listed as Ability. If your opponent's Pokémon is Knocked Out by damage from an attack of this Pokémon, take 1 more Prize card. The attack Plasma Gale lists 120 damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless, Colorless, Colorless. Discard a Plasma Energy attached to this Pokémon. If you can't discard a Plasma Energy, this attack does nothing. Weakness is Lightning ×2. Resistance is Fighting -20. Retreat cost is 2. The card text says: Pokémon-EX rule: When a Pokémon-EX has been Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

I keep a set binder for Plasma Storm, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Plasma Storm set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Lugia can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Team Plasma and All Lugia cards. I still need this card.
