Metagross 52/116 · Plasma Freeze

Plasma Freeze is a set in the Black & White series. It was released on May 8, 2013. The printed size is 116. This checklist is longer, at 122 cards. Metagross is 52/116, in position 52 of 122 on this checklist. Before it is 51 Metang, and after it is 53 Deoxys-EX. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

Metagross is a Stage 2 Team Plasma Psychic Pokémon with 140 HP. In the Pokédex this is Metagross (#376), generation 3 (Hoenn). The card says it evolves from Metang. In this catalog that name is Metang (#375).

5ban Graphics illustrated this card. The same name is on 1,629 other cards in the catalog.

Metagross (#376) has 33 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 22 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2004 to 2026. The earliest other card is Metagross 11/101 in Hidden Legends (2004). That card lists 100 HP, and this one lists 140 HP. Both list the rarity Rare Holo. Kouki Saitou illustrated that card, and 5ban Graphics illustrated this one. 32 other cards of Metagross list a different HP.

Plasma Search is listed as Ability. Once during your turn (before your attack), you may search your deck for a Team Plasma card, reveal it, and put it in your hand. Shuffle your deck afterward. You may not use an Ability with the same name during your turn. The attack Mind Bend lists 60 damage. The cost is Psychic, Colorless, Colorless, Colorless. The Defending Pokémon is now Confused. Weakness is Psychic ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "With four linked brains, it's more intelligent than a supercomputer, and it uses calculations to analyze foes."

I keep a set binder for Plasma Freeze, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Plasma Freeze set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Metagross can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
