Kyurem-EX BW37/101 · BW Black Star Promos

Kyurem is Pokédex #646, generation 5 (Unova). Kyurem-EX is a Basic EX Water Pokémon with 180 HP.

Kyurem-EX sits at BW37/101 in BW Black Star Promos, position 37 of 101. Before it is BW36 Reshiram-EX, and after it is BW38 Zekrom-EX. The set belongs to the Black & White series. It was released on March 1, 2011. The printed size is 101, and the checklist is the same length. The listed rarity is Promo.

The attack Frozen Wings lists 60 damage. The cost is Water, Colorless, Colorless. Discard a Special Energy attached to the Defending Pokémon. Hail Blizzard is another attack lists 120 damage. The cost is Water, Water, Colorless, Colorless. This Pokémon can't use Hail Blizzard during your next turn. Weakness is Metal ×2. Retreat cost is 3. The card text says: Pokémon-EX rule: When a Pokémon-EX has been Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

Kyurem (#646) has 49 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 22 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2011 to 2025. The earliest other card is Kyurem BW44/101 in BW Black Star Promos (2011). That card is named Kyurem, while this one is Kyurem-EX. That card lists 130 HP, and this one lists 180 HP. Both list the rarity Promo. 5ban Graphics illustrated that card, and Shizurow illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 2, and here it is 3. 33 other cards of Kyurem list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Shizurow. I count 79 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

BW Black Star Promos set binder is where a full BW Black Star Promos set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Kyurem can fill a slot in Generation 5 binder (Unova). I still need this card.
