Raikou SL9/95 · Call of Legends

Call of Legends is a set in the HeartGold & SoulSilver series. It was released on February 9, 2011. The printed size is 95. This checklist is longer, at 106 cards. Raikou is SL9/95, in position 104 of 106 on this checklist. Before it is SL8 Palkia, and after it is SL10 Rayquaza. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

Raikou is a Basic Lightning Pokémon with 90 HP. In the Pokédex this is Raikou (#243), generation 2 (Johto).

Noriko Hotta illustrated this card. The same name is on 20 other cards in the catalog.

Raikou (#243) has 26 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 19 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2001 to 2026. The earliest other card is Raikou 13/64 in Neo Revelation (2001). That card lists 80 HP, and this one lists 90 HP. Both list the rarity Rare Holo. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Noriko Hotta illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 1, and here it is 2. 26 other cards of Raikou list a different HP.

Extreme Speed is listed as Poké-Body. Raikou's Retreat Cost is Colorless less for each Lightning Energy attached to Raikou. The attack Raging Thunder lists 70 damage. The cost is Lightning, Lightning, Colorless. Does 20 damage to 1 of your Pokémon and don't apply Weakness and Resistance to this damage. Weakness is Fighting ×2. Resistance is Metal -20. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "A Pokémon that races across the land while barking a cry that sounds like crashing thunder."

I keep a set binder for Call of Legends, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Call of Legends set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Raikou can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). I still need this card.
