Breloom 45/132 · Secret Wonders

Breloom is Pokédex #286, generation 3 (Hoenn). Breloom is a Stage 1 Grass Pokémon with 100 HP. The card lists level 40. The card says it evolves from Shroomish. In this catalog that name is Shroomish (#285).

Breloom sits at 45/132 in Secret Wonders, position 45 of 132. Before it is 44 Xatu, and after it is 46 Charmeleon. The set belongs to the Diamond & Pearl series. It was released on November 1, 2007. The printed size is 132, and the checklist is the same length. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

The attack Drain Punch lists 40 damage. The cost is Fighting, Colorless. Remove from Breloom a number of damage counters equal to the amount of Energy attached to the Defending Pokémon. Homing Uppercut is another attack lists 60+ damage. The cost is Fighting, Colorless, Colorless. If the Defending Pokémon's Retreat Cost is 0, this attack does 60 damage plus 60 more damage. Weakness is Fire +30. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "Its short arms stretch when it throws punches. Its technique is equal to that of pro boxers."

Breloom (#286) has 15 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 14 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2025. The earliest other card is Breloom 16/109 in Ruby & Sapphire (2003). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 100 HP. The rarity there is Rare, and here it is Uncommon. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Kouki Saitou illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 1, and here it is 2. 13 other cards of Breloom list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Kouki Saitou. I count 652 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Secret Wonders set binder is where a full Secret Wonders set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Breloom can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
