Xatu 44/132 · Secret Wonders

Secret Wonders is a set in the Diamond & Pearl series. It was released on November 1, 2007. The printed size is 132, and the checklist is the same length. Xatu is 44/132, in position 44 of 132 on this checklist. Before it is 43 Wormadam Trash Cloak, and after it is 45 Breloom. The listed rarity is Rare.

Xatu is a Stage 1 Psychic Pokémon with 80 HP. The card lists level 44. In the Pokédex this is Xatu (#178), generation 2 (Johto). The card says it evolves from Natu. In this catalog that name is Natu (#177).

Sumiyoshi Kizuki illustrated this card. The same name is on 212 other cards in the catalog.

Xatu (#178) has 19 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 17 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2000 to 2024. The earliest other card is Xatu 52/111 in Neo Genesis (2000). Both list 80 HP. The rarity there is Uncommon, and here it is Rare. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Sumiyoshi Kizuki illustrated this one. 14 other cards of Xatu list a different HP.

Psychic Shift is listed as Poké-Power. Once during your turn, if Xatu is on your Bench, you may choose 1 Special Condition from 1 of your Active Pokémon and remove that Special Condition. Then, 1 of the Defending Pokémon is now affected by that Special Condition that you chose. The attack Energy Singe lists no damage number. The cost is Psychic, Colorless. Choose 1 of your opponent's Pokémon. This attack does 20 damage plus 10 more damage for each Energy attached to that Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Weakness is Psychic +10. Resistance is Fighting -20. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "This odd Pokémon can see both the past and the future. It eyes the sun's movement all day."

I keep a set binder for Secret Wonders, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Secret Wonders set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Xatu can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). I still need this card.
