Xatu 29/107 · Deoxys

Xatu is Pokédex #178, generation 2 (Johto). Xatu is a Stage 1 Psychic Pokémon with 70 HP. The card says it evolves from Natu. In this catalog that name is Natu (#177).

Xatu sits at 29/107 in Deoxys, position 29 of 108. Before it is 28 Whiscash, and after it is 30 Donphan. The set belongs to the EX series. It was released on February 1, 2005. The printed size is 107. This checklist is longer, at 108 cards. The listed rarity is Rare.

Mirror Coat is listed as Poké-Body. If Xatu is Burned or Poisoned by an opponent's attack (even if Xatu is Knocked Out), the Attacking Pokémon is now affected by the same Special Conditions (1 if there is only 1). The attack Dazzle Dance lists no damage number. The cost is Colorless. Each Defending Pokémon is now Confused. Psyloop is another attack lists 30+ damage. The cost is Psychic, Colorless. Does 30 damage plus 30 more damage for each Trainer card your opponent has in play. Weakness is Lightning ×2. Resistance is Fighting -30.

Xatu (#178) has 19 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 17 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2000 to 2024. The earliest other card is Xatu 52/111 in Neo Genesis (2000). That card lists 80 HP, and this one lists 70 HP. The rarity there is Uncommon, and here it is Rare. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Yuka Morii illustrated this one. 16 other cards of Xatu list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Yuka Morii. I count 204 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Deoxys set binder is where a full Deoxys set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Xatu can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Yuka Morii clay cards. I still need this card.
