Xatu 52/111 · Neo Genesis

Xatu is Pokédex #178, generation 2 (Johto). Xatu is a Stage 1 Psychic Pokémon with 80 HP. The card lists level 10. The card says it evolves from Natu. In this catalog that name is Natu (#177).

Xatu sits at 52/111 in Neo Genesis, position 52 of 111. Before it is 51 Togepi, and after it is 53 Chikorita. The set belongs to the Neo series. It was released on December 16, 2000. The printed size is 111, and the checklist is the same length. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

The attack Prophecy lists no damage number. The cost is Psychic. Look at the top 3 cards of either player's deck and rearrange them as you like. Confuse Ray is another attack lists 30 damage. The cost is Psychic, Psychic, Psychic. Flip a coin. If heads, the Defending Pokémon is now Confused. Weakness is Psychic ×2. Resistance is Fighting -30. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "They say that it stays still and quiet because it is seeing both the past and future at the same time."

Xatu (#178) has 19 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 17 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2001 to 2024. The earliest other card is Xatu 52/75 in Neo Discovery (2001). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 80 HP. Both list the rarity Uncommon. Sumiyoshi Kizuki illustrated that card, and Ken Sugimori illustrated this one. 14 other cards of Xatu list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Ken Sugimori. I count 1,112 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Neo Genesis set binder is where a full Neo Genesis set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Xatu can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). I still need this card.
