Hitmonlee 100/146 · Legends Awakened

Legends Awakened is a set in the Diamond & Pearl series. It was released on August 1, 2008. The printed size is 146, and the checklist is the same length. Hitmonlee is 100/146, in position 100 of 146 on this checklist. Before it is 99 Hitmonchan, and after it is 101 Hitmontop. The listed rarity is Common.

Hitmonlee is a Basic Fighting Pokémon with 80 HP. The card lists level 24. In the Pokédex this is Hitmonlee (#106), generation 1 (Kanto).

Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated this card. The same name is on 721 other cards in the catalog.

Hitmonlee (#106) has 14 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 13 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2023. The earliest other card is Hitmonlee 7/62 in Fossil (1999). That card lists 60 HP, and this one lists 80 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Common. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated this one. 11 other cards of Hitmonlee list a different HP.

The attack Gut Kick lists 30 damage. The cost is Fighting, Colorless. If Tyrogue is anywhere under Hitmonlee, you may do 30 damage to any 1 Benched Pokémon instead. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Mega Kick is another attack lists 60 damage. The cost is Fighting, Colorless, Colorless. Weakness is Psychic +20. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "Its legs can stretch double. First-time foes are startled by its extensible reach."

I keep a set binder for Legends Awakened, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Legends Awakened set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Hitmonlee can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Mitsuhiro Arita cards. I still need this card.
