Pupitar δ 59/101 · Dragon Frontiers

Dragon Frontiers is a set in the EX series. It was released on November 1, 2006. The printed size is 101, and the checklist is the same length. Pupitar δ is 59/101, in position 59 of 101 on this checklist. Before it is 58 Pupitar, and after it is 60 Ralts. The listed rarity is Common.

Pupitar δ is a Stage 1 Lightning Pokémon with 70 HP. In the Pokédex this is Pupitar (#247), generation 2 (Johto). The card says it evolves from Larvitar. In this catalog that name is Larvitar (#246). The card lists Tyranitar, Tyranitar (#248) under evolves to.

Kouki Saitou illustrated this card. The same name is on 652 other cards in the catalog.

Pupitar (#247) has 26 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 24 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2001 to 2025. The earliest other card is Pupitar 45/75 in Neo Discovery (2001). That card is named Pupitar, while this one is Pupitar δ. Both list 70 HP. The rarity there is Uncommon, and here it is Common. Hironobu Yoshida illustrated that card, and Kouki Saitou illustrated this one. 16 other cards of Pupitar list a different HP.

The attack Hyper Beam lists 20 damage. The cost is Lightning, Colorless. Flip a coin. If heads, discard an Energy card attached to the Defending Pokémon. Weakness is Grass ×2. Retreat cost is 1.

I keep a set binder for Dragon Frontiers, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Dragon Frontiers set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Pupitar can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Delta Species cards. I still need this card.
