Shiftry 12/100 · Sandstorm

Shiftry is Pokédex #275, generation 3 (Hoenn). Shiftry is a Stage 2 Grass Pokémon with 120 HP. The card says it evolves from Nuzleaf. In this catalog that name is Nuzleaf (#274).

Shiftry sits at 12/100 in Sandstorm, position 12 of 100. Before it is 11 Seviper, and after it is 13 Solrock. The set belongs to the EX series. It was released on September 18, 2003. The printed size is 100, and the checklist is the same length. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

Fan Away is listed as Poké-Power. Once during your turn (before your attack), you may flip a coin. If heads, return 1 Energy card attached to the Defending Pokémon to your opponent's hand. This power can't be used if Shiftry is affected by a Special Condition. The attack Light Touch Throw lists 80- damage. The cost is Grass, Grass, Colorless, Colorless. Does 80 damage minus 10 damage for each Energy attached to the Defending Pokémon. Weakness is Fire ×2. Retreat cost is 2.

Shiftry (#275) has 22 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 19 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2025. The earliest other card is Shiftry 22/100 in Sandstorm (2003). Both list 120 HP. The rarity there is Rare, and here it is Rare Holo. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Atsuko Nishida illustrated this one. 20 other cards of Shiftry list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Atsuko Nishida. I count 408 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Sandstorm set binder is where a full Sandstorm set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Shiftry can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
