Shiftry 22/100 · Sandstorm

Sandstorm is a set in the EX series. It was released on September 18, 2003. The printed size is 100, and the checklist is the same length. Shiftry is 22/100, in position 22 of 100 on this checklist. Before it is 21 Sandslash, and after it is 23 Steelix. The listed rarity is Rare.

Shiftry is a Stage 2 Grass Pokémon with 120 HP. In the Pokédex this is Shiftry (#275), generation 3 (Hoenn). The card says it evolves from Nuzleaf. In this catalog that name is Nuzleaf (#274).

Ken Sugimori illustrated this card. The same name is on 1,112 other cards in the catalog.

Shiftry (#275) has 22 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 19 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2025. The earliest other card is Shiftry 12/100 in Sandstorm (2003). Both list 120 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare. Atsuko Nishida illustrated that card, and Ken Sugimori illustrated this one. 20 other cards of Shiftry list a different HP.

The attack Feint Attack lists no damage number. The cost is Colorless, Colorless, Colorless. Choose 1 of your opponent's Pokémon. This attack does 40 damage to that Pokémon. This attack's damage isn't affected by Weakness, Resistance, Poké-Powers, Poké-Bodies, or any other effects on that Pokémon. Slash is another attack lists 60 damage. The cost is Grass, Colorless, Colorless, Colorless. Weakness is Fire ×2. Retreat cost is 2.

I keep a set binder for Sandstorm, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Sandstorm set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Shiftry can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
