Azurill 31/100 · Sandstorm

Sandstorm is a set in the EX series. It was released on September 18, 2003. The printed size is 100, and the checklist is the same length. Azurill is 31/100, in position 31 of 100 on this checklist. Before it is 30 Azumarill, and after it is 32 Baltoy. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

Azurill is a Basic Colorless Pokémon with 40 HP. In the Pokédex this is Azurill (#298), generation 3 (Hoenn). The card lists Marill, Marill (#183) under evolves to.

Kagemaru Himeno illustrated this card. The same name is on 656 other cards in the catalog.

Azurill (#298) has 3 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 3 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2005 to 2019. The earliest other card is Azurill 20/113 in Delta Species (2005). That card lists 50 HP, and this one lists 40 HP. The rarity there is Rare, and here it is Uncommon. Midori Harada illustrated that card, and Kagemaru Himeno illustrated this one. 2 other cards of Azurill list a different HP.

Baby Evolution is listed as Poké-Power. Once during your turn (before your attack), you may put Marill from your hand onto Azurill (this counts as evolving Azurill), and remove all damage counters from Azurill. The attack Jump Catch lists no damage number. The cost is Colorless. Search your deck for a Trainer card, show it to your opponent, and put it into your hand. Shuffle your deck afterward. Weakness is Fighting ×2. Retreat cost is 1.

I keep a set binder for Sandstorm, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Sandstorm set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Azurill can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). Themed lists that include this exact card are Baby Pokémon. I still need this card.
