Sharpedo ex 104/107 · Deoxys

Sharpedo is Pokédex #319, generation 3 (Hoenn). Sharpedo ex is a Stage 1 ex Darkness Pokémon with 100 HP. The card says it evolves from Carvanha. In this catalog that name is Carvanha (#318).

Sharpedo ex sits at 104/107 in Deoxys, position 104 of 108. Before it is 103 Salamence ex, and after it is 105 Latias ★. The set belongs to the EX series. It was released on February 1, 2005. The printed size is 107. This checklist is longer, at 108 cards. The listed rarity is Rare Holo EX.

The attack Drag Off lists 20 damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless. Before doing damage, you may switch 1 of your opponent's Benched Pokémon with the Defending Pokémon. If you do, this attack does 20 damage to the new Defending Pokémon. Your opponent chooses the Defending Pokémon to switch. Darkness Blast is another attack lists 60+ damage. The cost is Darkness, Darkness, Colorless. You may discard a Darkness Energy attached to Sharpedo ex. If you do, this attack does 60 damage plus 20 more damage and discard 1 Energy card attached to the Defending Pokémon. Weakness is Grass ×2. Resistance is Psychic -30. The card text says: When Pokémon-ex has been Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

Sharpedo (#319) has 25 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 20 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2025. The earliest other card is Sharpedo 22/109 in Ruby & Sapphire (2003). That card is named Sharpedo, while this one is Sharpedo ex. That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 100 HP. The rarity there is Rare, and here it is Rare Holo EX. Hajime Kusajima illustrated that card, and Hikaru Koike illustrated this one. 24 other cards of Sharpedo list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Hikaru Koike. I count 46 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Deoxys set binder is where a full Deoxys set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Sharpedo can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
