Regice ex 98/106 · Emerald

Emerald is a set in the EX series. It was released on May 1, 2005. The printed size is 106. This checklist is longer, at 107 cards. Regice ex is 98/106, in position 98 of 107 on this checklist. Before it is 97 Raichu ex, and after it is 99 Regirock ex. The listed rarity is Rare Holo EX.

Regice ex is a Basic ex Water Pokémon with 100 HP. In the Pokédex this is Regice (#378), generation 3 (Hoenn).

Hikaru Koike illustrated this card. The same name is on 46 other cards in the catalog.

Regice (#378) has 10 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 10 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2004 to 2026. The earliest other card is Regice ex 97/101 in Hidden Legends (2004). That card lists 90 HP, and this one lists 100 HP. Both list the rarity Rare Holo EX. Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated that card, and Hikaru Koike illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 2, and here it is 3. 10 other cards of Regice list a different HP.

The attack Ice Beam lists 10 damage. The cost is Water. Flip a coin. If heads, the Defending Pokémon is now Paralyzed. Iceberg Crush is another attack lists 40 damage. The cost is Water, Water, Colorless. If Regirock ex is in play, flip a coin. If heads, discard 1 Energy card attached to the Defending Pokémon. Weakness is Metal ×2. Retreat cost is 3. The card text says: When Pokémon-ex has been Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

I keep a set binder for Emerald, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Emerald set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Regice can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
