Regice 24/98 · Ancient Origins

Regice is Pokédex #378, generation 3 (Hoenn). Regice is a Basic Water Pokémon with 120 HP.

Regice sits at 24/98 in Ancient Origins, position 24 of 101. Before it is 23 Relicanth, and after it is 25 Kyurem-EX. The set belongs to the XY series. It was released on August 12, 2015. The printed size is 98. This checklist is longer, at 101 cards. The listed rarity is Rare.

The attack Ice Beam lists 30 damage. The cost is Water, Colorless. Flip a coin. If heads, your opponent's Active Pokémon is now Paralyzed. Resistance Blizzard is another attack lists 70 damage. The cost is Water, Colorless, Colorless. During your opponent's next turn, prevent all effects of attacks, including damage, done to this Pokémon by Pokémon-EX. Weakness is Metal ×2. Retreat cost is 3. The flavor text reads "Its body is made of ice from the ice age. It controls frigid air of -328 degrees Fahrenheit."

Regice (#378) has 10 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 10 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2004 to 2026. The earliest other card is Regice ex 97/101 in Hidden Legends (2004). That card is named Regice ex, while this one is Regice. That card lists 90 HP, and this one lists 120 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo EX, and here it is Rare. Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated that card, and Miki Tanaka illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 2, and here it is 3. 8 other cards of Regice list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Miki Tanaka. I count 192 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Ancient Origins set binder is where a full Ancient Origins set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Regice can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
