Ancient Origins is a set in the XY series. It was released on August 12, 2015. The printed size is 98. This checklist is longer, at 101 cards. Relicanth is 23/98, in position 23 of 101 on this checklist. Before it is 22 Vaporeon, and after it is 24 Regice. The listed rarity is Common.

Relicanth is a Basic Water Pokémon with 90 HP. In the Pokédex this is Relicanth (#369), generation 3 (Hoenn).

Kagemaru Himeno illustrated this card. The same name is on 656 other cards in the catalog.

Relicanth (#369) has 15 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 13 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2004 to 2026. The earliest other card is Relicanth 24/101 in Hidden Legends (2004). That card lists 60 HP, and this one lists 90 HP. The rarity there is Rare, and here it is Common. 10 other cards of Relicanth list a different HP.

The attack Deep Sea Search lists no damage number. The cost is Colorless. Search your deck for up to 2 Pokémon Tool cards, reveal them, and put them into your hand. Shuffle your deck afterward. Take Down is another attack lists 30 damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless. This Pokémon does 10 damage to itself. Weakness is Grass ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "A rare Pokémon discovered during a deep-sea exploration. It has not changed in over 100 million years."

I keep a set binder for Ancient Origins, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Ancient Origins set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Relicanth can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
