Rocket's Moltres 12/132 · Gym Heroes

Gym Heroes is a set in the Gym series. It was released on August 14, 2000. The printed size is 132, and the checklist is the same length. Rocket's Moltres is 12/132, in position 12 of 132 on this checklist. Before it is 11 Rocket's Hitmonchan, and after it is 13 Rocket's Scyther. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

Rocket's Moltres is a Basic Fire Pokémon with 60 HP. The card lists level 26. In the Pokédex this is Moltres (#146), generation 1 (Kanto).

Ken Sugimori illustrated this card. The same name is on 1,112 other cards in the catalog.

Moltres (#146) has 43 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 29 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Moltres 21/53 in Wizards Black Star Promos (1999). That card is named Moltres, while this one is Rocket's Moltres. That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 60 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare Holo. Toshinao Aoki illustrated that card, and Ken Sugimori illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 1, and here it is 2. 43 other cards of Moltres list a different HP.

Rebirth is listed as Pokémon Power. When Rocket's Moltres is Knocked Out, you may return it to your hand after discarding it. This power can't be used if Rocket's Moltres is Asleep, Confused, or Paralyzed when it is Knocked Out. The attack Fire Wall lists 40 damage. The cost is Fire, Fire, Fire. If an attack does damage to Rocket's Moltres during your opponent's next turn (even if Rocket's Moltres is Knocked Out), Rocket's Moltres attacks your opponent's Active Pokémon for 10 damage. (Apply Weakness and Resistance.) Resistance is Fighting -30. Retreat cost is 2.

I keep a set binder for Gym Heroes, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Gym Heroes set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Moltres can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Trainer's Pokémon, Team Rocket cards, and Legendary birds. I still need this card.
