Ho-Oh LEGEND 111/123 · HeartGold & SoulSilver

HeartGold & SoulSilver is a set in the HeartGold & SoulSilver series. It was released on February 10, 2010. The printed size is 123. This checklist is longer, at 124 cards. Ho-Oh LEGEND is 111/123, in position 111 of 124 on this checklist. Before it is 110 Typhlosion, and after it is 112 Ho-Oh LEGEND. The listed rarity is LEGEND.

Ho-Oh LEGEND is a LEGEND Fire Pokémon with 140 HP. In the Pokédex this is Ho-Oh (#250), generation 2 (Johto).

Shinji Higuchi illustrated this card. The same name is on 3 other cards in the catalog.

Ho-Oh (#250) has 37 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 24 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Ho-oh 52/53 in Wizards Black Star Promos (1999). That card is named Ho-oh, while this one is Ho-Oh LEGEND. That card lists 80 HP, and this one lists 140 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is LEGEND. Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated that card, and Shinji Higuchi illustrated this one. 36 other cards of Ho-Oh list a different HP.

Sacred Rainbow is listed as Poké-Body. All Energy attached to Ho-Oh LEGEND are Fire Energy instead of their usual type. The attack Bright Wing lists 100 damage. The cost is Fire, Fire, Fire, Fire. Discard an Energy attached to Ho-Oh LEGEND. Weakness is Water ×2. Resistance is Fighting -20. Retreat cost is 2. The card text says: Put this card from your hand onto your Bench only with the other half of Ho-Oh LEGEND. The flavor text reads "Legends claim this Pokémon flies the world's skies continuously on its magnificent, seven-colored wings."

I keep a set binder for HeartGold & SoulSilver, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the HeartGold & SoulSilver set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Ho-Oh can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Pokémon LEGEND. I still need this card.
