Croconaw 42/217 · Ascended Heroes

Ascended Heroes is a set in the Mega Evolution series. It was released on January 30, 2026. The printed size is 217. This checklist is longer, at 295 cards. Croconaw is 42/217, in position 42 of 295 on this checklist. Before it is 41 Totodile, and after it is 43 Mega Feraligatr ex. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

Croconaw is a Stage 1 Water Pokémon with 100 HP. In the Pokédex this is Croconaw (#159), generation 2 (Johto). The card says it evolves from Totodile. In this catalog that name is Totodile (#158).

Felicia Chen illustrated this card. The same name is on 2 other cards in the catalog.

Croconaw (#159) has 14 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 13 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2000 to 2024. The earliest other card is Croconaw 31/111 in Neo Genesis (2000). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 100 HP. Both list the rarity Uncommon. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Felicia Chen illustrated this one. 13 other cards of Croconaw list a different HP.

The attack Crunch lists 50 damage. The cost is Water, Water. Flip a coin. If heads, discard an Energy from your opponent's Active Pokémon. Weakness is Lightning ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "If it loses a fang, a new one grows back in its place. There are always 48 fangs lining its mouth." The regulation mark is J.

I keep a set binder for Ascended Heroes, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Ascended Heroes set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Croconaw can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). I still need this card.
